7 Days Nairobi City Tour - Masai Mara - K'ogelo - Lake Nakuru


Day 1 : Nairobi City Tour
Nairobi, a bustling metropolis, is Africa's center of commerce and finance. Located in the heart of the Kenyan Highlands, Nairobi is at an elevation of 5500 ft. with a climate of warm sunny days and cool nights. This morning tour the main shopping areas and the city center where a multitude of fascinating wares are displayed in shops shaded from the blazing sun by avenues of spectacular flowering shrubs and trees. Landmarks such as the Parliament Building and the Kenyatta Conference Center, at twenty-seven stories, Kenya's highest building, are a proud display of the city's modern and ever-expanding lifestyle. The National Museum houses the world's largest collection of African butterflies and over 1,000 species of birds. The exhibits of wildlife and tribal ornaments are a superb introduction to your safari through Kenya. The Museum's display dealing with prehistoric man is of special interest to scientists throughout the world. The late Dr. Louis Leakey directly relates it to the research program on early man and the discoveries in this area. Next to the Museum are the Snake Park, which has an extensive collection of pythons, cobras, and other rare species. Transfer to The Carnivore Restaurant, which is famous for the meals it serves. It is rated amongst the 50 beast restaurants in the world, and a meal here is considered "Africa's greatest Eating Experience". Carnivore has a wide variety of barbeques and includes a wide range of wild game meat. Return to your hotel for overnight.

Day 2 : Nairobi-Masai Mara
Pick up from your hotel in Nairobi for a journey south a long the great rift valley for a stop over to view the escapment of the great rift valey, proceed to Narok town then climb the western wall entering Hemingway’s country “Serengeti Plains” arriving Masai Mara in time for luch at your campsite, after lunch proceed on with your afternoon game drive in masaai mara game reserve renowned for its great herds of plain game, black-maned lions, leopard and cheetah but also contains numerous elephant and virtually every type of wildlife to be found in Kenya, return to the campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 : Masai Mara
Full day in Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives from the comfortable base of the camp, explore the parks amazingly high concentration of game. This game reserve is Kenya's finest wildlife sanctuary well over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. Dinner and overnight at the Campsite.

Day 4: Masai Mara-Kisumu
An early morning game drive followed by late breakfast and a departure to Kisumu with lunch enroute, dinner and overnight in Kisumu.

Day 5: Kisumu-K'ogelo
After an early breakfast in Kisumu, depart to Siaya District, Nyang'oma Division, Kogelo Village to visit the Kenyan home of the President of the United State of America, President Barrack Obama, visit his Grand Mother Mama Sarah Obama, visit the graveyard of Obama Sr. and Sanator Barrack Obama School. Spend the rest of the day learning more about the K'ogelo village and the cultures of the Luo community in western Kenya, return to Kisumu for overnight in a budget hotel.

Day 6: Kisumu - Kit Mikayi- Lake Nakuru
After breakfast depart for "Kit Mikayi" Stone of the "first wife". Kenya's most dramatic archaeological site, a vast granite rock tower standing about 80 ft tall, the legend has it, an old man named Ngeso who was fascinated with this Stone, every morning he climbed up to the cave and stood meditating all day. When his wife was asked where the old man was,she always replied, "He was with the first wife" hence the Stone of the first wife. Over the years this place has become holy and many people go there for prayers and seek cleansing. Continue on a tour of Lake Victoria thereafter followed by journey to lake Nakuru arriving in the afternoon for dinner and overnight in a Nakuru Hotel.

Day 7: Lake Nakuru-Nairobi.
After early morning breakfast, proceed for an extensive morning game drive in L.Nakuru National park known for it’s millions of flamingoes and other water birds.leave Nakuru after lunch back to Nairobi arriving in late afternoon.
