Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve
Set off the safari from your hotel/residence in Nairobi at 7:30 am heading down to the great rift valley (quick stop here for a nice view of the escarpment). Another stop will be at Narok town where you can grab any of your personal valuables you might need during safari as the driver also refuel the vehicle being the last town. You will make it to Masai Mara in good time to have lunch at the camp or lodge while you relax from the lengthy drive. Following lunch you can indulge in the various optional activities available at the camp; including guided nature walk, Masai Village visit or go for an afternoon game drive in the park to see all the Big Five Rhino, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo and Elephant live in this wonderful game reserve. Afternoon game drives are great! You get to enjoy the final catch of the wildlife as they are out of their hides getting their dinner and sunbathing before dark. Other animals graze in groups as they find a place to rest for the night.
During this time, some animals (nocturnal) come out of their hiding to start their hunt.
Day 2: Masaai Mara National Reserve (Full Day)
After breakfast spend full day game drives, explore the parks amazingly high concentration of game. This game reserve is Kenya's finest wildlife sanctuary including migrants, well over 450 species of animals have been recorded here although July, August and September are the months when the Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife year round. The famous Maasai tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game reserve lunch is serve in the park at the mara river, the crossing point of wildebeest and zebras during migration period. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast leave the camp and depart for lake Nakuru National park. Lunch is served en-route. Lake Nakuru gives you a chance of viewing hundreds of species of birds inclusive of the lesser and greater flamingos and the pelicans. It’s also a rhino sanctuary, and water Bucks, Impala, Buffalo and Gazelle are found in the surrounding gardens. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park to Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, proceed for an extensive morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park to see the many animals that inhabit this unique park. Lake Nakuru National park is known for it’s millions of flamingoes and other water birds covering the lake. Leave lake Nakuru with late lunch to drive to Lake Naivasha for dinner and overnight in lodge.
Day 5: Lake Naivasha to Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, a visit to the Hells gate National park which is renowned for its dramatic landscapes, towering cliffs, gorges, geothermal features, hot springs, and steam vents, the park offers an adventurous atmosphere where visitors can explore the Hell’s Gate Gorge, climb Fischer’s Tower, or relax at the nearby Olkaria Geothermal Spa. One of the few parks in Kenya where visitors are allowed to walk or cycle among wildlife, Hell’s gate provides a chance to spot zebras, buffalo, antelopes, and various bird species, including rare vultures and eagles. there is an option of boat ride in Lake Naivasha. Crescent Island, a wildlife sanctuary within Lake Naivasha is also an option to consider, it's known for its peaceful setting and the opportunity to walk among free-roaming animals. This island is a popular destination for walking safaris, where visitors can spot giraffes, zebras, waterbucks, and various antelope species up close. Birdwatching is also a highlight, with numerous bird species residing in the trees and along the shore. The island offers a tranquil experience with panoramic views of the lake and its surroundings, perfect for nature walks, photography, and wildlife observation in a serene environment. Leave lake Naivasha National park to proceed to Amboseli National park with lunch enroute. Arrival for dinner and overnight at lodge or tented camp in Amboseli National park.
Day 6: Amboseli National park (Full Day)
After breakfast, full day spent in Amboseli National Park. The majesty of mount Kilimanjaro makes Amboseli National park an ideal photographers haven which offers a spectacular background for wildlife and scenic photography including elephants. An optional tour to Masai village to experience their traditional way of life and dances, Meals and night at the camp or lodge.
Day 7: Amboseli National park to Nairobi
After breakfast leave your camp / lodge for the last game drive in the park as you leave Amboseli park for Nairobi with Picnic lunch served enroute arriving in Nairobi in the afternoon with sweet memories.
